Safeguarding
At Coloma Convent Girls' School, the safety and wellbeing of every student is at the heart ofeverythingwe do.
Inspired by our Catholic values and the charism of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph, we are committed to creating a caring, inclusive and supportive environment in which every young person feels safe, respected, valued and able to flourish.
We believe that every child has the right to grow, learn and develop in an environment free fromharm, abuse, neglect, discrimination and exploitation.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. It is embedded in our school culture, our relationships, our teaching and learning, and the pastoral support we provide. We work in partnership with students, parents, carers, staff, governors and external agencies to promote the welfare of our young people and help them reach their full potential.
Our commitment is simple: we listen, we care, we act and we put the needs of the child first.
Our commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to:
-
Keeping children safe: Taking all reasonable steps to protect students from abuse, neglect, exploitation, bullying and harm.
-
Listening to every voice: Ensuring students know they can speak to a trusted adult and that their concerns will be taken seriously.
-
Promoting wellbeing: Supporting students' physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
-
Creating a respectful community: Challenging bullying, discrimination, harassment and all forms of harmful behaviour.
-
Keeping students safe online: Helping young people develop the knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital world safely.
-
Working in partnership: Working closely with parents, carers and relevant external agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for our students.
-
Acting promptly: Responding appropriately to concerns, sharing information where necessary and seeking support when a child may be at risk.
At Coloma, we want every student to know that she belongs, that her voice matters and that there is always someone ready to listen.
Guided by faith, compassion and a commitment to the dignity of every individual, we strive to ensure that every young person is safe, supported and empowered to flourish.
Together, we create a community where every child is known, every voice is valued and every young person can thrive.
